This first Blum & Poe exhibition at Cocon Karasuma will present work by seven artists. With small paintings of thick impasto, asymmetrical ceramic sculpture with cracked and fissured surfaces, saturated and lush pastels, and graphite-soaked works on paper, this showcase of work from Alma Allen, March Avery, Kazunori Hamana, Friedrich Kunath, Mimi Lauter, Tony Lewis, and Kenjirō Okazaki, focuses on the tactile experience of viewing art.
In tandem with the co-current project Skwat Hertz, the exhibition series taking place at Cocon Karasuma in Kyoto creates a transdisciplinary space for art, music, and fashion.
