In this exhibition, Masanao Hirayama will present a series of paintings that are appropriations of famous paintings by world masters. The series is full of humor, focusing on various motifs and scenes that appear in the paintings of existing artists and their works from a unique perspective, and drawn with Masanao Hirayama’s characteristic bold turns and lines.
Following his solo exhibition “1-4” at Voilld in 2020, this will be Hirayama’s second exhibition of new work and will feature a number of new paintings. Also, on sale will be new pouches and archival items created in collaboration with Voilld and Masanao Hirayama.
