Many of Japan’s vital scientific research centers are concentrated in Tsukuba. With the cooperation of the University of Tsukuba’s world-class Research Unit for Art and Technology, this exhibition presents an opportunity for visitors to see and experience the world of art and science together.

The centerpiece of this exhibition, the experiential media art piece “Hero Heroine” uses hero poses taken in studio with images taken in real time and combines them to create a “hero/heroine experience” for the visitor. This work uses special effects and animation techniques researched by the performance group Grinder-Man.
