Shingo Nakata, Hermippe
In Iida City, Nagano Prefecture, famous for its Mizuhiki strings industry, Shingo Nakata creates artworks using traditional materials and runs the brand “RITUAL the crafts”. On the other hand, with a focus on pixel art, Hermippe’s artistic activities revolve around illustrations, music videos, and VJing.
Being friends for twenty years since their time at university, the two have continued to work in different fields and pursue different forms of expression. Nowadays, we can find a curious affinity between the two artists in the unintended use of common themes and motifs in the forms they create, and in their approach to their works, which are created by combining and linking small parts.
For this exhibition, artists have selected several common motifs and expressed them using their individual techniques. Please enjoy this opportunity to see the unique technique of Mizuhiki strings by Shingo Nakata and the precise integration of dots by Hermippe.
