3331 Arts Chiyoda
Finished

Artists

Hiroshi Fuji
What started as a small family project out of a sense of unease at ever-increasing amounts of plastic waste has since evolved into Kaekko, a children’s communication project utilizing unused toys as tools that has been held in numerous regions in Japan and overseas since 2000.

At the Tokyo Biennale, Kaekko will celebrate its 22nd anniversary by introducing the activities it has achieved to date while also examining the Kaekko system as the work and expressive tool of artist Hiroshi Fuji. It will culminate in an installation created using the vast number of toys accumulated as a result of his continuing activities.
