Haruka Makita
We are pleased to announce the Tokyo solo exhibition of Haruka Makita, an illustrator and painter.
In her works Makita incorporates old Japanese elements from the ukiyo-e woodblock prints while also giving them a modern feel as well.
Nowadays, the feelings and the sense of value of people can be wavered by social changes and therefore the artist has named the exhibition "Ribbons Fluttering in the Wind" with the ribbon that flutters but doesn't unravel, as its symbol. The exhibition has been held in Taiwan and Kagawa prior to coming to Tokyo.
