Hokkaido Asahikawa Museum of Art
Finished

Artists

Kazuaki Kanda, Nissho Kanda
The Kanda family settled in the town of Shikaoi near the end of World War ll. Graduating from a high school in Obihiro, the eldest brother, Kazuaki studied at Tokyo University of the Arts, then returned to Hokkaido to present his art mainly at open-call exhibitions. Three years younger than Kazuaki, Nissho learned oil painting from his brother and also exhibited at open-call exhibitions while working on the family farm. He passed away at the young age of 32. This two-person exhibition, never realized while they were both alive, highlights the bond between the two brothers, and their lives as artists on two different paths.
