120th Anniversary Exhibition: Happy Birthday! Peter Rabbit™

Setagaya Art Museum
Finished
The mischievous bunny Peter Rabbit™ remains a beloved figure all over the world. The story began as an illustrated letter that the English author Beatrix Potter™ made to cheer up a young boy who was sick in bed. Modeled on Potter’s own pet rabbit, the book has provided countless readers with pleasant dreams since it was first published in 1902. This exhibition, a celebration of the adorable bunny’s 120th birthday, sheds light on the creation of "The Tale of Peter Rabbit" as well as the world depicted in the story through a collection of original drawings and other items, some of which have never been shown outside the U.K.
