Akari Fujise
ONA project room is pleased to present an exhibition by Akari Fujise "Songs to Make the Dust Dance on the Beams".
Akari Fujise's work is based on the idea of contemporary drawing. In particular, she has been using overlooked traces as motifs to create fluctuations in the value of these traces, and has been exploring how to create a new language from them. Her drawings are not of her own internal world, but of the lines created in the interaction between the environment and the body. In her work, she sometimes becomes the recipient and takes in the environment by standing on the side of control.
During the exhibition, the artist is going to show a series of drawings in which she traces the dirt on the art studio’s desks. The studio desks of art schools accumulate the traces of time that countless artists have spent creating. They are full of pure joy and fun of creative activities, and at the same time, they are also a map of human cognitive activities when generating ideas. Akari, will attempt to create a new language by drawing such traces with the use of embroidery.
