For the 2022 edition of "Artist Project #2.0," Museum of Modern Art Saitama is pleased to welcome the up-and-coming artist, Sen Takahashi.
Takahashi majored in sculpture at Tokyo University of the Arts and engaged in the conservation and restoration of sculptures. In recent years, he has developed a practice that critically questions the permanence of works of art and the institutions involved in their preservation. His works explore and express concepts of mortality, permanence, and disappearance, and provide us with a universal perspective that transcends the timescale of human life. In this exhibition, Takahashi will exhibit a selection of his new works, including the representative series "Cast and Rot," in which he applies bronze directly to carrots.
