Fukuyama Museum of Art
Finished

Artists

William Morris, Frank Lloyd Wright, Philip Webb, Charles Robert Ashbee, John Henry Dearle et al.
Arts and Crafts is a design movement that flourished in 19th century Britain that concerned all aspects of the everyday life. It's leader, William Morris, criticized the mass-produced goods of bad quality and the machine-like structure under which people worked as a result of the Industrial Revolution, and started creating beautiful handmade craftworks. He established a firm for wallpapers and furniture together with his friends, and advocated for a more humanlike lifestyle, surrounded by beautiful and helpful objects.
This exhibition will present works starting from designs by the leader of the movement, William Morris, to Frank Lloyd Wright's work. Around 170 works will be on display at the exhibition.
