Atsuto Shimada
Kinkan Gallery is pleased to present "Soko Iciri," an exhibition of photographs by Atsuto Shimada from May 14 to June 5, 2022.
This exhibition will be a new exhibition of the same title series held at Ricoh Imaging Square in 2021.
Atsuto Shimada has been creating photography works shooting on the Boso Peninsula using the same lens and film since shortly after he started his career as an artist. He develops and prints his own work, chooses the same format that can be continued, and repeats discovery, training, and construction. His approach is very photographic, and at the same time, it seems to be similar to creating haiku and tanka poems. He continues to photograph the seemingly unchanging scenery of the Boso Peninsula searching for something that can only be seen by continuing to look at it. His photographs show us the beauty of noticing little things that occur daily. This exhibition will feature about 15 monochrome prints. We hope you will take this opportunity to see the sceneries through his eyes, along with the beauty of his delicate prints.
