Artists

Ayane Eguchi
Mizuma Art Gallery is pleased to announce Ayane Eguchi's first exhibition at our gallery, titled "'Q' Which Decomposes", starting from June 1st.
Eguchi's works depict colorful and cute creatures resembling stuffed toys with a marvelous background of a fantasy world. However, their bodies are depicted in detail, thus showing the contradictions of the works we live in.
The exhibition will be presenting mainly Eguchi's new works, focusing on Kusouzu paintings. Eguchi changes her approach to Kusouzu paintings, traditionally conveying the idea of the impurity of the human body with gradually decaying body of a beautiful woman depicted, as she views it not in a negative light, but in a positive one, by putting the focus on the life that precedes the death, instead of the death itself.
