After studying at Tsinghua University in China, Ayumi Okita moved on to a master's course in arts and crafts and is now confronting lacquer not as an arts and crafts medium, but as a painting medium. The material, which is not a simple material, shows unexpected changes in expression, and the multi-layered expression of himself and the forest in his mind's eye offers new possibilities.
