Commemorating the 20th Anniversary of the Museum's Opening - Japanese Painting Collection: From Taikan's "Muga" to the new collection

The Mizuno Museum of Art opened in 2002 in Nagano, Japan, based on the collection of modern and contemporary Japanese paintings acquired by the late Masayuki Mizuno, the founder of the Hokuto Corporation.
In July 2022, the museum will celebrate its 20th anniversary. To commemorate this anniversary, this exhibition will present a selection of masterpieces from the museum's collection, including Taikan Yokoyama's "Muge" (Selfless), which has been a representative work of the museum since its opening, as well as works by Saigo Kogetsu, Shoen Uemura, and Kiyokata Kaburaki, which will be on display for the first time. In addition, rare materials that are not usually on display to the public will be exhibited, as well as episodes related to the Mizuno Museum of Art, the artists, and their work, as well as the curators' favorite work.
During the exhibition period, some exhibits will be changed (first period: August 2 - August 28, second period: August 30 - September 25).
Taikan Yokoyama's "Muga" will be exhibited during this exhibition.
