In Tsukuba City and the foot of Mt. Tsukuba, more than 30 artists, including contemporary artists active in Japan and abroad, artists with connections to Tsukuba, and young artists challenging various forms of expression, will participate to create opportunities for people in and outside the city to experience contemporary art in a wide area. This is an attempt to foster a nostalgic yet new culture by connecting the center of Tsukuba, with old houses and other locations along Tsukuba Road, which leads from the historic Tsukuba-san Shrine.
