Edo-Tokyo Museum Collection - Path of Tokyo

Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum
Finished
Since its opening on March 28, 1993, the Edo-Tokyo Museum has been a popular museum that introduces the history of Tokyo from the Edo period (1603-1868) using a wealth of materials and models. The museum's 9,000-square-meter permanent exhibition hall features life-size reproductions of the Nihonbashi Bridge, theaters, and newspaper company buildings, as well as elaborately staged movable and interactive models that have delighted many visitors. The Edo-Tokyo Museum, with its dynamic exhibition space, has been closed for a long period of time since April 1, 2022, for major renovation work.

The Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum, which opened at the same time as a branch of the Edo-Tokyo Museum, relocates and restores historical buildings that existed in Tokyo, and holds special exhibitions on various themes such as architecture and Tama history in its exhibition rooms. This time, the permanent exhibition of the Edo-Tokyo Museum, which is now closed for a long period of time, is compactly organized to look back on the history of Tokyo, including the materials and models that were on display, as well as those collected by the Musashino Museum of History, the predecessor of the park.
