In collages meanings are born usually by juxtaposing various particular forms. Fenna, on the other hand, abstracts the materials with a specific scanning technique, and leaves out the original meaning that the materials would carry. This way she communicates without words with the viewers. It is possible to say that in her approach she utilizes the scanner as a paintbrush for her abstract works.
Fenna is also an active DJ and her works show a close connection to music.
She has named her solo exhibition at Laid Bug "Through the Looking Glass". This is mainly because the photographs used in the collages, displayed at the exhibition, are of glass works. At the same time, it conveys the idea of it being an expression of Fenna's inner wonderland, similar to that of "Alice in Wonderland". It is also a reference of an album title by a Japanese ambient/minimal music artist, Midori Takada, who has influenced Fenna.
