Fumika Tsuchitori
Fumika Tsuchitori was born in 1995 in Hyogo, Japan, and received her MFA from Kyoto University of Art and Design (now Kyoto University of Arts) in 2020. Since her studies at Kyoto University of Art and Design, she has garnered much attention for her delicate yet dignified paintings, such as the "I and You" series, which depicts two intimate figures, and the "A Scene" series, which extracts elements such as color and shape from landscapes. By using highly improvisational and flat materials such as lacquer spray, Tsuchitori pursues her own unique worldview with composition and a sense of color that seems to move freely between figuration and abstraction.

The title of this exhibition, "Blind Spot," is one of the elements that can be said to be a common theme in Tsuchitori's paintings, which look at the subtleties of relationships and emotions that we overlook in our daily lives, or aspects of things that have not yet been touched. The exhibition will consist of around 10 new works and will be structured in such a way as to make the viewer aware of what they see and don't see in the same room.
