Mitsukoshi Department Store presents the first solo exhibition for Hirosuke Yabe, who applies various surface treatments to massive pieces of wood, wood chips, and scrap wood to create fierce monsters and demons, girls who are both adorable and frightening, and funny, strange-looking animals. The questions "What is a human being?” and “What kind of creatures are we?” run throughout his works, which are are imbued with an affection for humanity. This exhibition will feature approximately 20 pieces and will also include advance sales of his first art book. Step into the unique and fascinating world of this artist.
