Historia - Mythology and Story in Art

Morohashi Museum of Modern Art
Finished

Artists

Salvador Dali et al.
The enchanting worldview full of mystery and fantasy, the variety of characters, and their complex human relationships that can be found in classical literature have been partially adapted by various people over the course of time and oftentimes with changes from the original work.

These complex literary classics have been loved by many artists and have greatly influenced works of art such as paintings and sculptures. Salvador Dali (1904-1989), a painter from Spain, is one of them.

Through the museum's collection of Salvador Dali's work, this exhibition will take a fresh look at the mythology, the Bible, and stories that are the subject of his work. It will take a look at the "historia" of the changes and history of the stories depicted in his works, such as what were the original stories reinterpreted by artists, and how they were passed on to future generations.
