Hitomi Uchikura
Art Front Gallery is pleased to announce the solo exhibit of Hitomi Uchikura "Lumière." Uchikura's work is known for the theme of light, and in use of the materials mirror, lens and paper. The artist studied first Japanese painting and shifted to contemporary art with her mentor Lee Ufan initiating the Mono-ha school. After graduate school, she pursued her career, questioning the originality acquired from representation "different from others". At the end of a long struggle, she met with "light", which has been her main motif since then. Her style became losing artistic individuality to transform into the proposal of what she herself is seeing as it is without processing for the spectators. Recently she exhibited in Europe, especially in Berlin and Paris and got renowned for her performance. Because of the corona situation now she works in Nasu in Japan.

This solo exhibit will show her demarche so far as well as latest works.
