In Focus is pleased to announce the group exhibition “Jyu (Episode.1/ Takaramachi Complex)” curated by Gillochindox☆Gillochindae (hereafter GCD☆GCD) from September 3rd, Saturday to 25th, Sunday at Contrast, a creative space operated by us.
This exhibition is directed overall by GCD☆GCD and will take on new challenges, including connecting contemporary art and urban cultures such as music and narrative expression in an exhibition format. It is the 2nd episode in a 7-year-long project that will tell the story of various genres of artists (Japanese painters, sculptors, contemporary artists, designers, rappers, DJs, bands, etc.), and the exhibition will aim to update the exhibition format.
The story of “Jyu” is a 7-episode story featuring a black beast, and each episode will be presented in the form of an exhibition once a year. “Jyu (Episode.1 / Takaramachi Complex)” is the first in the chronological order of the story and will feature a live music performance in conjunction with an exhibition themed on a playground from the black beast’s childhood.
