Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts
Finished

Artists

Chinzan Tsubaki, Seien Shima et al.
Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts opened on May 1, 1936, and will celebrate its 86th anniversary in 2022, as well as begin a three-year major renovation in the fall. Before the museum is closed for this long period of time, it will hold a special exhibition of works from its collection.

The museum features one of the best collections of Chinese art in Japan, including Chinese calligraphy and paintings collected by Fusajiro Abe, who was active in the Kansai business world, and Chinese stone sculptures and crafts from the collection of businessman Kenshiro Yamaguchi. Additionally, the museum's unique collection of Japanese art, including crafts, Buddhist paintings, and modern paintings also demonstrate its relationship with China. Explore the fascination and influence of Chinese culture through a selection of Chinese art and "Chinese-style" Japanese art.
