Kengo Hélio Sato
Kengo Helio Sato was born in 1968 in Sao Paulo, Brazil. After returning to Japan, he spent his childhood and adolescence in Ishinomaki, Miyagi, and graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts with a major in oil painting, and then completed a master’s at the Graduate School of Fine Arts.
After living and working in Tokyo, Sato moved to Nakasatsunai in Kawanishi County, Hokkaido in 2007. Although he continued his artistic activities in his adopted hometown of Tokachi, he passed away suddenly in 2010, the year before the Great East Japan Earthquake, ending his short life.
Recently, a large number of Sato's work was entrusted to the museum's collection, and the museum will take this opportunity to exhibit and introduce approximately 45 oil paintings. Kengo Helio Sato was an artist who always faced art and expression with sincerity.
