"Thrust" by Manabu Koga will be on display at Clear Gallery Tokyo. In an underwater dive, Koga captures the moment when the buoyancy force releases the artist's subjects from the gravity of the ground. Reconstructing the captured images in multiple time frames, different spaces, and different scales, the artist creates works that combine the imaginary with the real.
In "Thrust," a video installation depicting the fictional diving equipment "ViiVii" will be featured. The artist examines artistry and empathy for a setting or idea in a situation where the work can be possessed and shared without existing as a kind of object.
