Michele De Lucchi and his architecture studio, AMDL Circle, will hold an exhibition “Earth Stations by AMDL Circle" to introduce for the first time the full scope of their research project “Earth Stations: Architecture that Shares the Future with Michele De Lucchi".

Italian architect Michele De Lucchi, who is in charge of designing the project to transform the former Rokkosan Hotel, a Kobe landmark located on Mt. Rokko, into the Rokkosan Silence Resort, was a key member of Memphis, a group of designers who sparked a design movement in the 1980s and has remained active at the forefront of design to the present.

This exhibition will present for the first time in Japan the full scope of Earth Stations, a new architectural typology born out of a reflection on the evolving role of architecture and the need for symbolic buildings, and will use models and videos to introduce the architect's ideas that have led to the Rokko Silence Resort and projects around the world. In addition, product exhibits such as furniture and lighting designed by Michele De Lucchi will be on display, tracing the architect's thought process from Memphis to the present. As a related event, a talk session with architect Sousuke Fujimoto, who has been appointed as the producer of venue design for the 2025 Japan International Expo (Osaka-Kansai Expo), will also be held during the exhibition period.
