Miho Iida
Miho Iida received a master’s degree in oil painting from the Kyoto University of the Arts graduate school in 2018. Based in Aichi Prefecture, she has participated in solo and group exhibitions in the Kansai region while recently attracting attention in Tokyo through art fairs.

Iida is known for referencing famous paintings by artists such as Manet, Goya, and Renoir, simplifying their images with her own style while upholding a love and respect for these masters of painting. Viewers gain new perspectives on their memories of classic works by comparing them with Iida’s interpretations.

This exhibition will present her recent pieces, including five new paintings. The title "±image∓" is based on the idea that "the act of painting is like a formula in which an image is subtracted or added to materials such as paint.” Iida’s fresh visions paying homage to the masters teach us new ways of appreciating painting.
