Mio Ito's paintings are created by the rhythm and strokes of bold lines, overlapping several layers of surfaces. Underneath the vibrant colors, there is a deep pictorial space that has the power to draw the viewer in.

Ito's technique differs from that of painting in that she has shifted from canvas to book form, developing her images into artist books.

Ito's artist books are symmetrical, with paint overlapping the left and right pages, and the unexpected images created by the overlapping of paint and the tearing of the paper give the book a physicality, making it an artist's book that has the characteristics of both a painting and a book, although it is not perfectly symmetrical.

This exhibition presents her newest artist book, reconstructed by returning to the starting point of the artist's book production that Ito has been engaged in for many years.
