Artists

Chihiro Iwasaki
Chihiro Iwasaki was exposed to movies and music from a young age. After moving to Tokyo after the war, she went to the Toyo Kinema to watch Fred Astaire's movies and listened to his records every day. The films and music that nurtured Chihiro's sensibility and sometimes supported her spirit were also utilized in the creation of her later picture books. This exhibition features "Two-Person Dance Party," a picture book inspired by Weber's piano music, and "Red Balloon," a picture book based on the French film of the same name, to illustrate Chihiro's picture books with a focus on film and music.
