The "Open Studio" is a program in which artists stay at the Nagano Prefectural Art Museum to create artworks, show the creation process, and the results. This year, we have invited Tomoko Sato, an artist who engages in creating lecture performances through careful research of historical facts and the field.
In this exhibition, Sato will focus on the project related to foxes, cranes, and horses, animals that have a close relationship with humans, and will update her previous works. The updated work will be presented as a lecture performance in the second half of the exhibition, and a video recording of the performance will be screened and exhibited as well. Visitors can explore the materials used for research and the studio in which Sato creates her works.
