Robert Heindel: Modern Realism Exhibition

Daikanyama Hillside Forum
Finished

Artists

Robert Heindel
The first exhibition of Heindel's work in Japan was the "Robert Heindel Exhibition Commemorating the Visit to Japan of the Royal Ballet" held at the Nihonbashi Takashimaya Department Store in 1992.

The word "Modern" in the exhibition's subtitle, "Modern Realism," means "contemporary," but it also means "cool," "fashionable," or “tasteful." The sense of speed, dynamism, and subtlety of emotion that Heindel captures on canvas is modern itself, and it is no exaggeration to say that he is a painter who depicted this era with a modern sensibility.

This exhibition, which marks 30 years since his first solo exhibition, will feature approximately 60 original paintings, including a ballet work and a work from The Phantom of the Opera, both of which are on view in Japan for the first time.
