Sarah Bildstein is a Tokyo-based artist who continues to explore the possibilities of abstract painting. This exhibition will feature two of her series, "100 Spectres" and "Unknown – April April." Her book "100 Spectres" will also be on sale.
Water is an essential element for us, a resource on our planet, and a potential tool in many political conflicts. The “100 Spectres" series addresses the context of water-related crises such as water scarcity and pollution and reflects on the causes and effects of climate change. Meanwhile, “Unknown – April April" experiments with materials such as water, ink, rice, sand, soap, and oil paint. The viewer can perceive a strange transformation from material to art, the traces of which can be seen in the paint.
