This exhibition presents the work of five artists who have captured the outpouring of this energy, sometimes like the people themselves, and sometimes as intermediaries who convey the voices of these people.
The exhibition also includes pre-2020 works that deal with similar issues that already existed before the COVID-19 pandemic. These works from the recent past, which were created at major turning points in society, such as the Great East Japan Earthquake and the spread of Ebola, will take on new meaning in the context of the Corona disaster.
The word crash in the title of the exhibition is an English word meaning "to collide with a loud bang". However, crash also has the meaning of pushing forward or resounding. The ☆ at the end of the title expresses hope for the new power that will be born when Sumikko and her friends "crash" together.
