Artists

Yumeji Takehisa, Junichi Nakahara, Settai Komura, Hide Kawanishi, Kiyoshi Kobayakawa
From Taisho period to Showa, Yumeji Takehisa was active not only as a bijinga painter with his works depicting women of a listless manner, but he was also actively involved in the graphic design. At that time women would admire Takehisa's girls and would incorporate the images into their styles, as well as buy the goods that Takehisa created. Takehisa's works in fashion, accessories, literature, and even music, was inherited by younger artist such as Junichi Nakahara and Koji Fukiya.
In this exhibition we will exhibit Yumeji Takehisa's bijinga, designs for books, magazines, and music sheets. We will also introduce other artists, active at that time, to introduce the images that fascinated the women of Taisho and Showa eras.
