Artists

Tetsuya Noguchi
In addition to three-dimensional sculptures of armored figures, Tetsuya Noguchi will also present new two-dimensional works. The exhibition will also include a large number of sketches and drawings, which will allow viewers to get a closer look at Tetsuya Noguchi's world view from various perspectives.

Noguchi sees armored space as "a shell created by humans" and projects various thoughts and values onto it. The human figures, expressed neutrally rather than in clear-cut emotions, highlight the flexibility of humans to adapt to any situation. Noguchi's works, which break down the viewer's stereotypes through the motif of armor and human beings, propose a new value of art, "to make us feel discomfort and empathy at the same time".

In addition, Noguchi, who was born in the oil painting department, works not only on the interstitial but also on many flat-surface works. From classical painting techniques using acrylic paints to light illustrations, they are expressed in a wide range of ways, just like Noguchi's thinking.

In this exhibition, we will display plastic and synthetic fiber works, sketches and drawings created in the process of conception, and new works based on the theme of "Armored Space" (the theme of the exhibition).
