Tokyo Architecture Collection 2022: New Standard

Daikanyama Hillside Forum
Finished
For the 16th year of the Tokyo Architecture Collection, the chosen theme is "new standard." With the COVID-19 pandemic, we are adapting to changes in our environment. For example, social distancing, teleworking, and other new approaches can be seen as newly commonplace "standards."

With regard to architecture, the introduction of teleworking has called into question the necessity of office space and provided an opportunity for us to think about the nature of new spaces. Now that the "standard" of modern society is changing, this exhibition aims to provide a place to think about what kind of "new standards" should appear in the future, in contrast to the "standards" that have been used so far in architecture.

As in previous years, organizers are working on the premise that the results of the exhibition will be published in a book. It is their hope that this exhibition will be sustained for a long time to come and that through its archival value, it will contribute to the development of architecture.
