Tomoyuki Kanbe Exhibition

Artists

Tomoyuki Kanbe
Tomoyuki Kanbe's work began with a focus on the Nagara River in his native Gifu Prefecture and the small creatures that inhabit its banks.

Since the end of 2013, under the theme of "life," Kanbe has been actively, rather than passively, trying to depict the world of small creatures that are earnest about "living" in any environment, sometimes in a positive way.

In his first solo exhibition in six years, Kanbe will present new works that depict the environment of familiar creatures in an attempt to grasp the shape and direction of our society and the connections and similarities between our society and the creatures we are familiar with, as well as the shape of society we have never noticed before.
