Tokyo School of Arts (TSA; 1982-2000) embodies the educational philosophy of Yoshishige Saito (1904-2001), a pioneer of abstract art in Japan. "Zeroist" is a group established by volunteers as a continuation of the "Expression of the Present" group exhibition held by graduates of TSA. The name "Xeroist" is derived from the title of Yoshishige Saito's 1950 work.

The original meaning of "zero" is "Zeroist," but since "Z" is currently used as a symbol to glorify war in some places, "X" is used this time only to deny the war. As the opposite of tyranny against human beings, this work expresses our desire to confront others through the power of imagination and expression.
