Urban Design Yokohama Exhibition

BankArt Kaiko
Finished
In 1971, Yokohama became the first city in Japan to establish an urban design department within city hall, and for the past 50 years, the city has been promoting urban design. During this time, the city has worked with both civilians and businesses to create a grand design for each area of the city, creating urban spaces with an emphasis on local resources such as water, greenery, and historical buildings, and creating a landscape that is uniquely Yokohama.

This exhibition looks back over the past 50 years and introduces the concrete efforts of urban design that have moved forward with the times to create the unique and attractive city of Yokohama.
