Yui Samejima + Mizuki Inoue "Fragments of Unvoiced Voices"

Katsuya Susuki Gallery
Finished

Artists

Yui Samejima, Mizuki Inoue
Yui Samejima creates paintings based on the theme of "connecting the visible with the invisible," mixing the "real," which can be felt through the five senses, with the "imaginary," which is derived from the imagination, at the entrance to spiritual worlds that have taken root among people since ancient times, such as faith, mythology, and philosophy. Mizuki Inoue draws voices and stories derived from people and things outside of social norms, focusing on "individuals" and "things" in social life that are either invisible or too visible. The title of this two-person exhibition, "Fragments of Unvoiced Voices," is a phrase that emerged as the two artists discussed commonalities between them in preparation for the exhibition.

Although the two artists have different vectors, this is a competition of works by two artists who scoop up and connect things that are difficult to see, things that seem to disappear, and things that are made transparent.
