The second exhibition at RPS Kyoto Branch Paprol, which opened in April 2022, is the Yusuke Takagi photography exhibition "Spin L'artiere Edition Publication Commemoration Exhibition." Takagi participated in Photobook Masterclass, a workshop held at RPS in 2019, creating this series on the theme of alcoholism. Seventy-two copies of a handmade art book were published in November 2020. The work was awarded the Photo España 2021 Award in the category of independent photo book, and in 2022, it received the PhotoBoox Award, which led to the publication of a popular edition by the Italian publishing house L'artiere this June.
L'artiere is the publishing arm of Grafiche dell'artire. Highly regarded for the quality of its printing, it has published many excellent art books and photography collections. In this exhibition, trial prints of Takagi's photo books, known as "printouts," will be brought back from Italy and exhibited to the public, recreating the process of making the photo book.
