Yutaka Matsuzawa
This exhibition features documentary photographs of a performance held at an art festival on Sakushima Island in Aichi Prefecture in 1998 by Yutaka Matsuzawa, as well as a copy of the manuscript used on the day. The exhibition will also include photographs of Yutaka Matsuzawa's encounters with the people of Sakushima. Matsuzawa is one of the founders of conceptual art, advocating and practicing conceptual art with words in response to the revelation to "erase objects". During the Triennial, there will be an opportunity to view a video taken in his studio named "Psai (ψ) Room" in Shimosuwa, which was also Matsuzawa's home, and a video of a performance he gave at the National Museum of Modern Art, Tokyo before his death.
