One of the most noticeable features of Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design is its rooftop garden named "Roof of Onomatopée". Here, the graphic designer Taku Sato will present plaything designs which will focus on onomatopée such as "tsurutsuru" (indicating something smooth) and "guruguru" (meaning "around and around").
As a new challenge, Sato incorporated video in the design of "Ofuro", a next generation of a plaything. In 2021 the photographer Tamotsu Fujii presented his photo book "Yuugu 2" where his photographs of "Ofuro" were included.
This exhibition will be the first initiative to present "Ofuro" to the public, and will also include around 20 photographs of playthings from the "Yuugu 2" photo book.
