The Takato Museum of Arts owns 134 works by Shoji Harikae, a painter who was active in Kokugakai exhibitions. The collection is made up of works from the collection of Masao Harada, a collector from Takato, as well as donations by Harikae himself.

In commemoration of the 20th anniversary of his death, this exhibition introduces several humorous works by Shoji Harikae. The exhibition will also include works by the painter Kiyoshi Koizumi, who was a close friend during his lifetime.
