Artists

Kyohei Fujita
Kyohei Fujita (1921-2004) was one of the pioneers in Japan's contemporary glass art scene. The "Kazaribako (ornamented box)" series, renowned for its representation of traditional Japanese beauty through glass boxes, is particularly notable. The museum displays these works, along with vases and colorless crystal glass objects created by Fujita. Awarded the Order of Culture two years before passing, Fujita was the first glass artist to receive this honor. Fujita played a crucial role in the museum's management as a committee member and advisor. In 2024, marking the 20th anniversary of Fujita's passing, the museum showcases a comprehensive collection of diverse glass art.
