Iwate Museum of Art is pleased to present an exhibition featuring works of Morioka-based painter Miyuki Sugimoto, born in Aomori Prefecture, in 1955. Sugimoto creates unique abstract paintings with feminine and fresh colors, bold composition and brushwork, and innovative use of materials. She is regarded as one of the leading artists in the Tohoku region. This exhibition traces the evolution of Sugimoto's style over 50 years. In addition, winter-themed works by many other artists will also be on display.
