Artists

Aiko Yamamoto
Aiko Yamamoto is an artist who uses natural materials such as silk fabrics, cocoon threads, natural dyes, and waste materials to create works that focus on the indigenous nature of things and the place of memory. Yamamoto conducts field research and residencies largely in Asia and makes dyes from the plants the artist grows and from wild plants in the environment where the artist lives. The title of this exhibition, "Plan(e)t Collecting," is a coined word combining plant collecting and planet.
