Artists

Aki Nakajima
Aki Nakajima expresses aspects of the natural world in metal. The forms and lines created by copper and iron are beautiful, and their shapes look like plants and animals.

Nakajima says she likes to spend time looking at her garden. When he observes it for a long time, she says that the nuts start to look like bird's heads and the leaves start to look like caterpillars. Nakajima says he began to think that there are things in nature that are similar across species, even though they are different species.

The changes and multifaceted nature of the natural world, as well as the forms and characteristics that are common beyond the natural world. Nakajima says that by documenting these things in her work, she may be able to peek into a world he does not yet know.

This exhibition will feature copper reliefs and iron sculptures representing various aspects of the natural world found by the artist.
