Tokyo-based Aki Yamamoto is active in painting and graphics and is showcasing her work at Beams T Harajuku.
Yamamoto has a background in graffiti culture and has been influenced by it in his work. Currently, as a lifelong pursuit, he takes photographs of trees and incorporates elements from his surroundings into his artwork, constructing scenes that offer new perspectives by portraying trees as a relationship between himself and others. In recent years, he has provided graphics to domestic and international brands such as Buttergoods, Goodhood, and CCP.
This art show, titled "Cyber Spice," focuses on the artist's recent interest in game art and indie games, exploring the changing aspects of graffiti lettering, character design in games, and the daily aspects of trees that he is interested in, using them as the basis to deconstruct and reconstruct scenes in a new light.
